We had our second walk-through on Saturday, August 12. Most of the visitors were in the Master Gardener program and already had a strong foundation in fruit trees. We discussed many aspects of the orchard, including rootstock, spraying, pruning, tree form and grafting.
The use of comfrey as a green mulch, nitrogen fixer, and weed deterrent was of interest to the group.
We spent the most time talking about grafting and looked at grafting types, tools, placement, and obtaining scions. The group expressed significant interest in participating in a grafting workshop in the early spring!
Everything is very open with a very clear clarification of the challenges. It was really informative. Your site is extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, I’m so glad it was helpful
